Alliance

Contemporary ukrainian artist Olena Strekalova (Holly Haurelia) presents her personal exhibition Alliance as a summary of 3 years of her work in Tbilisi. Since she moved here in 2022, she was mesmerised by the unique soul of the city, mix of cultures, vibrant colors and ethnic diversity. Being the artist specialised in Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles, she absorbed the textures and palettes of Tbilisi streets, enamel jewelry, hand-painted ceramics and ancient mosaics.

The exhibition covers 3 series of her art:
— Prints of the digital artworks created in 2022-2025 featuring signature Art Nouveau portraits and characters of her original fantasy story «Beyond the Known Worlds»
— Graphics, lineart on paper / acrylic paintings of female portraits, 2025. This series focuses on the diversity of facial features, bodies, cultures — all equally mesmerising in their beauty and power.
— Patterns and ornaments that connect the heritage of Art Nouveau artists following Willam Morris designs with the rhythm of Georgian architecture, ceramics and textile.

This unique Alliance of two cultures that look so different at the first glance, butcreate a beautiful synergy in the Artist’s soul will be open to public view in UHAB Gallery on September 1-4, 2025.
